Summary
(from goodreads)
Three casinos. Three bodies. Three days. After a string of brutal murders in Las Vegas, Cassie Hobbes and the Naturals are called in to investigate. But even with the team's unique profiling talents, these murders seem baffling: unlike many serial killers, this one uses different methods every time. All of the victims were killed in public, yet the killer does not show up on any tape. And each victim has a string of numbers tattooed on their wrist. Hidden in the numbers is a code—and the closer the Naturals come to unraveling the mystery, the more perilous the case becomes. Meanwhile, Cassie is dealing with an equally dangerous and much more painful mystery. For the first time in years, there's been a break in her mother's case. As personal issues and tensions between the team mount, Cassie and the Naturals will be faced with impossible odds—and impossible choices.

Review:
I believe this is my favourite series by Jennifer. She’s seriously has a way to write about the profiling that makes this series really addictive.
I was happy to find myself back with the team and see what new unsub they were going to have to profile and I was served. I love to see how their minds work on this. I love that their personalities don’t change, but evolve due to growing up, but they are basically the same people.
And the romance is there without being there. You know that Dean and Cassie are together (if I spoiled this for you, then you haven’t read the first two books, so go now lol), but it’s not their main focus. You see that they are there for each other without making it more important than what they have to do. Even when a body is discovered and is to believe that it could be her mother’s, it’s still kept low-key and is mostly like a background sound to what is happening in this book. Yes, Cassie wants to know more about it, but she is mature enough to know that it’s not her top priority and that the team needs her to be as focus as them on the murders that are occurring in Vegas.
In this book, you get to learn more about Sloane and where she comes from and the kind of upbringing she had. I really felt for her and it was strange to see her being so affected by everything when you know she’s all about the statistics. She went through a lot in this book and I just wanted to hug her. I was really happy to see her confide in Cassie and letting her help her get through it. Sloane’s brain is put to a lot of good use in this book and she works overtime and I’m surprised she isn’t brain dead after all these searches.
We learn a little bit about Lia too or maybe it’s not as obvious, but I really hope book 4 will give us more insight into her past. She’s such an interesting character that you might dislike for her honesty or her lack of sensitivity sometimes, but even if she doesn’t say it or show it in the most obvious ways, she cares about them all.
And Michael. What can I say about Michael? Oh, he’s still the same. Acting like he doesn’t care about what happened with Cassie, but you can tell that it’s all a lie. Him and her will have a conversation that I hope will eventually bring some sort of peace between the two of them. I really liked how Cassie handled that conversation with it.
And now, the murders. Oh I was really intrigued about finding out how all these victims could connect and who was behind all of it and oh my god, Jennifer didn’t not disappoint. I don’t know where she gets her ideas, but I hope she never runs out of them. It kept me guessing until the end and the ending just had me gripping my eReader and hoping there were more pages because she couldn’t leave us on that. She couldn’t. But yes, she did and now I want book four like yesterday.
I recommend this series so much. If you like TV shows like CSI or Criminal Minds, you will probably enjoy this series.
