Review:

I was really looking forward to the third novel in the De Vincent series by Jennifer L. Armentrout because I needed to know about Devlin; I needed to know who he really was. I won’t lie, I wasn’t expecting all these turns of events when I began to read it.

I don’t even know where to start this review because a lot seems to happen in it. I just know that I had difficulties putting it down. I think my work might have suffered from it… oopsie.

Okay, let’s start with Devlin then because he was the third and most mysterious brother of all three. I swear that I never really knew how to feel about this one because he seemed to have no emotions and everything seems to be business for him. Then, we finally get his book and I get to see that like more often than not, there is more than meets the eye. I really enjoyed getting more to his background because it explains a lot about his attitude.

Rosie… Rosie… Rosie… God, she is probably one of my favourite characters of this series. I really love her personality and I love how she isn’t scared to tell Devlin what’s actually on her mind. She’s such an interesting character and so funny. When she is first introduced in the second novel, I already liked her friendship with Nikki and I wanted her with Devlin especially after their first meeting; there was something there.

The sexual tension between Devlin and Rosie is off the chart. I don’t know if we can call this a slow burn, but I will say that it kept us begging for them to do something about it for a while. They have such different personalities but at the same time, they are connected because of these differences.

And along this, a lot of events unfold and you don’t even know where to look; Jennifer made sure to write this book to keep us on our toes. A lot I wasn’t expecting and I loved this book for it because I love when I finish a book and I’m like… Okay, they had me there.

This book has everything to keep you hooked from the beginning to the end. Even though it has an end, I wouldn’t mind if more books were added to this series. A lot of things could still be written about this world.

Overall, this was another awesome book in the De Vincent series and if you haven’t started it, please do it now because you won’t be disappointed.

I was giving an advanced copy of this book in exchange of an honest review.

The de Vincent brothers are back—and so is the intrigue that surrounds them—in New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout’s sizzling new novel...

Nicolette Bresson never thought she’d return to the de Vincents’ bayou compound. It’s where her parents work, where Nikki grew up... and where she got her heart broken by Gabriel de Vincent himself. Yet here she is, filling in for her sick mother. Avoiding Gabe should be easy, especially when so much of Nikki’s time is spent trying not to be stabbed in the back by the malicious hangers-on who frequent the mansion. But escaping memories of Gabe, much less his smoking-hot presence, is harder than expected—especially since he seems determined to be in Nikki’s space as much as possible.

Gabriel spent years beating himself up over his last encounter with Nikki. He’d wanted her then, but for reasons that were bad for both of them. Things have now changed.
