Release Day+Review: Dear Jane by Kendall Ryan

Here is a little bit about Dear Jane
Add on [goodreads]

I broke her heart ten years ago and left town.

She hates me, and rightly so. It doesn’t matter that the rest of the country loves me, that I’m a starting quarterback with a multimillion-dollar contract. Because when I look in the mirror, all I see is a failure who was too young—and too afraid—to fight for what I wanted.

But I’m not that guy anymore, and all I need is one shot to convince her.

***

He has no idea what happened after he left. And now I’m supposed to work alongside him like we don’t have this huge, messy history?

But I’m older now, wiser, and I won’t let anything stand in my way of doing a good job for this league. Not even one overpaid, arrogant player who thinks we’re going to kiss and make up.

News flash, buddy: I am over you.

Review:

This second chance romance is a quick read as the pace of the book sucks you into the story from the start. Jane and Weston were each other's first true love once upon a time, but ten years later, their paths cross again and Jane is set on not repeating history.

Ten years have passed and she still feel the freshness of the pain their break-up caused her when she learns about his return. But Jane is really an interesting character who may have not moved on completely from her first love, but she has a strong personality and she's the kind of person who doesn't let anything try and bring her down.

Wes is trying to move on from the ex-fiancée who cheated on him and gets drafted to his hometown team where he would be reunited with Jane once again. Ten years later and he's still pretty much oblivious to the reasons why the break-up happened, but he can't deny he is still very much attracted to her.

As they spend more time together and truths are revealed, both of them need to deal with the consequences of what happened and how to move on from that.

Their chemistry is there, but is it enough to mend the past and hope for a brighter future? Weston is ready to prove that he is exactly the kind of man Jane can depend on.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book as the characters all bring a little something to the story. I just wished I hadn't needed to work while I read it hahaha.

And I cannot wait for the next book about Alex.

I was giving an advanced copy of this book in exchange of an honest review.
